A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to nonexistent email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss messages because the other party has an out-of-date address or has made a spelling mistake. The disadvantage of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited bulk messages, but this issue can be resolved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also important to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
If you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a shared hosting account, you will be able to enable the catch-all feature for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel comes with quite a few features, but it’s remarkably easy to work with, so configuring a catch-all mailbox takes just one single click. All the email addresses that you’ve set up will be shown in this section alphabetically and you’ll just need to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the respective email address. Our system will notify you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or select a different mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as easy and requires yet another click on the same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The catch-all option can be enabled without any effort if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you’ve created using the domains hosted in your semi-dedicated server account will be enumerated in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will find a mini symbol conveniently situated directly next to each one of them. With just one single mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choosing on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with the option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate the feature through the context menu that will surface. In case any of the prerequisites for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will notify you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
